What We Do
Building brighter futures through education and opportunities
A Thousand Hopes is dedicated to creating brighter futures for children and adolescents in developing countries through education and opportunities.
We collaborate directly with schools to identify their needs, ensuring our support aligns with our mission to provide timely assistance. By continuously following up with schools and their students, we aim to empower them to build a better future for themselves and future generations. Our commitment is to offer sustained support, fostering long-term educational impacts and personal growth.
A Thousand Hopes runs projects in the following focus areas
Promoting Reading Cultures
Our fundraising initiative and books/libraries adoption programs aim to contribute to the construction of libraries, fostering knowledge hubs that empower communities with valuable resources and opportunities for growth.
Educational Support
Through our fundraising efforts and student sponsorship programs, we aim to provide monetary support that recognize those individuals who, despite financial challenges, demonstrate outstanding academic achievements.
Adopt a Book 2025 Projects are HERE
We’re currently working behind the scenes to prepare Adopt a Book 2025, which will support three schools with about 1,000 books, potentially reaching over 2,000 students from grades 1 to 12 in Vinh Long and Gia Lai province, Vietnam.
Our Current Project

Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School, Phu Thien District, Gia Lai Province
Nestled in the remote commune of Ia Yeng in Gia Lai province, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School serves 297 students with over 97% of whom are from ethnic minority communities. With 85 students coming from low-income or near-poor households, access to educational resources is not just limited. It’s scarce.

Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School, Phu Thien District, Gia Lai Province
Located in the mountainous region of Phu Thien District, Gia Lai Province, Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School serves as an educational beacon for 352 students in Ia Piar commune. Among these students, 347 come from ethnic minority communities, and 120 come from economically disadvantaged families.

Phan Van Dang Secondary and High School, Vung Liem District, Vinh Long Province
Despite modern facilities, the school's library faces significant resource gaps that limit the students' learning potential. There are currently 3,445 books available (2.5 books per student) with a severe shortage of reference books for both secondary and high school levels. The reading materials are outdated, insufficient encyclopedia collection, very limited life skills books, education materials (only 37 books), and age-appropriate recreational reading.
Our Past Projects
In 2024, we worked with 2 schools to support them with 183 books / book sets with total 265 books, potentially reaching more than 2,050 students.
Thanh Duc secondary school, Vinh Long
Thanh Duc Secondary School in Long Ho Commune, Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, is home to 650 students, but its small library is in need of support. Spanning 90 m², the library has just 600 outdated books, many of which no longer serve the students' reading needs.
Nguyen Trai secondary school, Vinh Long
Nguyen Trai Secondary School, located in Vinh Long Province, Vietnam. With a 120 m² library serving over 1,400 students, the school currently holds about 3,000 books, but still has numerous empty shelves, reflecting the need for more educational resources.
