About Thanh Duc Secondary School
Thanh Duc Secondary School in Long Ho Commune, Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, is home to 650 students, but its small library is in desperate need of support. Spanning 90 m², the library has just 600 outdated books, many of which no longer serve the students’ current educational needs.Â
With 32 students coming from poor or near-poor households, access to fresh, relevant books can make a transformative difference in their learning journey.  These students—and the entire school—deserve access to up-to-date, age-appropriate reading materials that will spark their curiosity and drive for education.Â

Through A Thousand Hopes’ Adopt a Book program, we aimed to provide the books that the school specifically requested and help to update their library, ensure every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
Books wished by School
Through Adopt a Book program, Thanh Duc secondary school wished to have 40 new books, ranging across 7 books genres: Action/Adventure fiction, Children’s Fiction, How-To/Guides, Romance, Self-help, Short Story and Young Adult.Â
At this moment, all books wished by School have been adopted.

Adopt a Book 2025 Is Coming Soon – But You Can Still Support Today!
We’re currently working behind the scenes to prepare Adopt a Book 2025, which will support 4 schools with approximately 3,000 books, reaching over 2,400 students from grades 1 to 12 in Vinh Long and Gia Lai province, Vietnam. These new projects will be open for adoption by generous donors like you starting May/June 2025. Stay tuned for full details as we can’t wait to share what’s coming!

At A Thousand Hopes, 100% of book adoption donations go directly to the books. To keep that promise, we rely on separate support to fund our operations, including essential costs like book delivery to schools. Your contribution helps us continue this important work and scale our impact to more communities in need.
