Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School, Gia Lai province, Vietnam

About Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School

Located in the mountainous region of Phu Thien District, Gia Lai Province, Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School serves as an educational beacon for 352 students in Ia Piar commune. Among these students, 347 come from ethnic minority communities, and 120 come from economically disadvantaged families, highlighting the critical need for educational support. These bright young minds are eager to learn and grow, but they face unique challenges in accessing quality learning materials that could unlock their full potential.

This rural school represents hope and opportunity for young learners in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, where access to quality educational resources can transform lives and communities. The school maintains a 200-square-meter library that serves as the heart of learning beyond the classroom. However, the school’s current collection of 237 books is aging and insufficient for the student population. The existing books show signs of wear, and many are outdated, limiting students’ exposure to contemporary knowledge and diverse learning materials.

In 2024, the school was fortunate to receive 50 sets of “Connecting Knowledge with Life” books, which have been invaluable additions for both the school and its students. Previously, the school also received 70 sponsored book sets, demonstrating the positive impact that book donations can have on the educational environment.
