For 01/01/2025 – 31/05/2026, the organization’s transitional period.

Building brighter futures through education and opportunity

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Partners,

This report covers a special transition period of 17 months (1 January 2025 – 31 May 2026) as A Thousand Hopes moves to a new financial year cycle of 1 June – 31 May, starting from the 2026/2027 financial year, to align with our annual project roadmap and fundraising timeline.

During this period, we grew from the foundations established in our inaugural year into an organization that has now completed five Adopt a Book projects across three provinces in Vietnam. Building on the momentum of our first two projects in Vinh Long province in 2024, we expanded our reach to the Central Highlands and Central Coast regions — completing three school projects in Gia Lai and Quang Ngai provinces. This expansion represents a step forward in our mission to bring quality educational resources to underserved communities.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Your support, belief, and commitment make all of this possible!

2025/26 IN SUMMARY

Overview

During this 17-month transition period (January 2025 – May 2026), A Thousand Hopes built on the foundations of its inaugural year to expand its reach and deepen its impact in Vietnam.

Our Adopt a Book program expanded from Vinh Long province into two new regions — the Central Highlands (Gia Lai) and Central Coast (Quang Ngai) — completing three new school projects. A total of 1,073 brand-new books were delivered to Ngo Gia Tu Secondary School, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary School, and Hanh Dung Secondary School, reaching approximately 987 students, including over 230 from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our Strategic Focus in 2025/26

As A Thousand Hopescontinues to focus primarily on Vietnam, a country where we are more familiar while many rural schools in the country still lack the resources necessary to foster a thriving educational environment.

In 2025/26, we worked with two schools in Gia Lai province and one school in Quang Ngai province Vietnam, for Adopt a Book program.

Project Impacts

Beyond quantitative measures, A Thousand Hopes’ work has generated significant qualitative impacts through Adopt a Book program:

Enhanced library environments in regions with among the highest rates of educational disadvantage in Vietnam

Expanded geographic reach to areas that consistently lag behind in educational outcomes

Increased diversity of reading materials available to students

Improved access to age-appropriate educational resources

Strengthened reading culture within participating schools

DELIVERING ON THE UNITED NATIONS

Expanding Access to Books & Learning Resources

The schools we work with had a book-to-student ratio of only 0,6-0,7:1. These figures were significantly below any recommended benchmark. After A Thousand Hopes’ intervention, these ratio slightly increased. While these numbers represent progress, they highlight the continuing gap in resource availability compared to global best practices.

Enhancing Literacy & Engagement

By delivering age-appropriate, relevant books to school libraries that previously had inadequate resources, A Thousand Hopes directly supports improved educational quality and access. The expansion to Gia Lai province, one of Vietnam’s Central Highlands provinces with significant ethnic minority populations and educational disparities, further deepens this contribution.

THANK YOU!

A Thousand Hopes extends its heartfelt gratitude to every individual, corporate partner, and volunteer whose generosity and dedication made this period of growth and expansion possible. From donors across multiple countries to our publisher partners and on-the-ground volunteers in Vietnam, the impact documented in this report is the result of a growing community united by a shared belief in the power of education.

As we enter our new financial year cycle, we are energized by what we have achieved together — five schools reached, three provinces connected, and over a thousand books placed in the hands of students who need them most. Together, we will continue to bring quality educational resources to underserved communities and empower children to build brighter futures.
