Full title: Vietnamese History in Pictures 48: The Scholar Lê Quý Đôn
The history of our country has gone through many changes. Following that change, our country’s territory gradually expanded to the south. This process is also known as the “Southern Advance” and lasted nearly 700 years, giving our country three-fifths of its territory as it is today. In that process, Nguyen Hoang can be considered an important person in expanding the borders of our country as well as creating a premise for the construction of the southern land and for the Nguyen dynasty in the future. During his 55 years of ruling and developing the southern land, Nguyen Hoang was considered a visionary, wise, virtuous, and able to win people’s hearts, so he was loved by the people, called the Fairy.

Lịch sử nước ta đã trải qua nhiều phen biến thiên. Theo dòng biến thiên ấy, lãnh thổ nước ta dần được mở rộng về phía nam. Trong suốt 55 năm cai trị và phát triển vùng đất phía nam của mình, Nguyễn Hoàng đã được đánh giá là người có tầm nhìn xa trông rộng, khôn ngoan, có lòng nhân đức, biết thu phục lòng người nên được nhân dân cảm mến, gọi là chúa Tiên.
