In the spring of the year of Mau Tuat (1418), Le Loi and his heroes waved the flag of the Lam Son uprising. At the beginning of the uprising, the rebels faced many difficulties, but they still maintained their iron faith in the final victory of the uprising. The period of activity in the mountains and forests of Thanh Hoa was the most difficult period of the Lam Son uprising – both against the Minh enemy and against Ai Lao. Facing the siege of the enemy, the rebels have been in a dangerous situation many times: three times they fled to Chi Linh mountain, there was a shortage of troops, soldiers were lost, and the morale of the army was shaken,… Even so, the rebels still raised the banner of resistance, believing in future victory.

Mùa xuân năm Mậu Tuất (1418), Lê Lợi cùng các hào kiệt phất cờ khởi nghĩa Lam Sơn. Ở buổi đầu khởi nghĩa, nghĩa quân phải đối mặt với nhiều khó khăn, nhưng họ vẫn giữ vững niềm tin sắt đá vào thắng lợi cuối cùng của cuộc khởi nghĩa. Thời kỳ hoạt động ở núi rừng Thanh Hóa là giai đoạn khó khăn nhất của khởi nghĩa Lam Sơn – vừa chống giặc Minh, vừa chống Ai Lao. Đối mặt với sự vây khốn của kẻ thù, nghĩa quân đã bao lần lâm vào tình thế hiểm nghèo: ba lần rút chạy lên núi Chí Linh, thiếu quân lương, binh sĩ hao hụt, quân tâm lung lay,… Dù vậy, nghĩa quân vẫn giương cao ngọn cờ kháng chiến, tin vào thắng lợi tương lai.
