He listened attentively to Bagheera’s advice and learned by heart the song Baloo the Bear taught him about the law of the jungle: The law of the jungle is great, Who disobeys, damnation! Do not seek pleasure in hunting, Find food to satisfy your hunger. Do not wait for the skin to be peeled, We and the pack must work together for each other. Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was born in Bombay, India. At the age of seventeen, he entered the journalism profession. In 1886, he published his first work, a collection of poems, and in the same year he began writing and publishing short stories, from which he became famous both in India and in his native England. He traveled to many countries around the world and finally settled in London, where he had achieved great success in his early writing career. Kipling is best known for his children’s books, but he also wrote extensively in other genres. The two volumes of The Jungle Book, featuring the famous Mowgli, were written while in Vermont, USA, between 1892 and 1896. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907. Antonis Papatheodoulou was born in Athens, Greece. He is the
Author of more than fifty children’s books, many of which have been translated into eleven languages. His works have also been adapted into plays and puppet shows, and have won numerous awards, including two Greek National Prizes for Picture Books and the Compostela International Prize for Picture Books in 2016. She lives and works in Athens, Greece.

Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) chào đời ở Bombay, Ấn Độ. Ở tuổi mười bảy, ông vào nghề làm báo. Năm 1886, ông ra mắt tác phẩm đầu tay là một tập thơ, cùng năm ấy ông bắt đầu viết và xuất bản truyện ngắn, từ đó danh tiếng nổi lên ở cả Ấn Độ lẫn quê hương Anh quốc. Ông du lịch qua nhiều quốc gia trên thế giới và cuối cùng dừng chân tại London, nơi ông từng gặt hái thành công vang dội khi chập chững bước vào nghề văn. Nổi danh nhất với các tác phẩm thiếu nhi nhưng Kipling sáng tác nhiều cả trong những thể loại khác. Hai tập Cậu bé rừng xanh, với nhân vật chính là nhó Mowgli trứ danh, ông viết khi ở Vermont, Mỹ vào những năm 1892-1896. Ông được trao giải Nobel Văn chương năm 1907.
Antonis Papatheodoulou chào đời tại Athens, Hi Lạp. Anh là tác giả của hơn năm mươi đầu sách thiếu nhi, nhiều cuốn được dịch ra mười một thứ tiếng.
